Companies House lists 26 new firms with Enfield addresses, 22 September to 5 October, from a Baker Street newsagent to a youth theatre. Three face petitions.

Twenty-six companies with registered offices in the borough were incorporated between 22 September and 5 October, according to the Companies House register. They include a newsagent on Baker Street, a meat wholesaler in Brimsdown, a youth theatre and a cafe and bakery pair at the same address. (Companies House, advanced search by registered office)

In the same period the Gazette published winding-up petitions against three Enfield firms. Two are heard at the High Court on Wednesday 14 October.

A new registration is not the same as a shop opening, and a petition is not a winding-up order. The notes on each are below.

New companies, newest first

Each entry gives the name, the date of incorporation and the nature of business the company declared. Registered offices are often an accountant’s or a home address, so we give the postcode area only.

Two more registrations in the period, E&F Retrofit Installations Ltd and MZLE Ltd, matched the search on “Enfield” because of street names in Lancashire and Leeds. They are not local and are left out.

Four of the month’s new companies, including London Cafe and the earlier Roz Villa Bakery (17 September), give 214 Baker Street as their registered office, which suggests a shared accountant’s address rather than four businesses in one shop.

Winding-up petitions against Enfield firms

A winding-up petition is a creditor asking the court to close a company. The company can pay, settle or oppose it before the hearing, and the Gazette notice is the only public record until the court decides.

  • Carmella London Ltd, 54 Alexandra Road, EN3. Petition presented on 18 August by EDF Energy Customers Limited. Hearing at the Rolls Building, Fetter Lane, on 14 October at 10.30am. (Gazette notice 5222454)
  • Ofiy Healthcare Ltd, Cambridge Studios, 75 Millmarsh Lane, EN3. Petition presented on 18 August by HM Revenue and Customs. Hearing at the High Court on 14 October at 10.30am. (Gazette notice 5221202)
  • The Maintenance Team Plumbing & Gas Group Limited, 84a Lancaster Road, EN2, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning installation. Petition presented on 8 September by Starling Bank Limited. Hearing at the High Court on Wednesday 4 November at 10.30am. (Gazette notice 5228019)

Other Gazette notices in the fortnight matched “Enfield” or “Southgate” only through an insolvency practitioner’s address or a street name elsewhere in the country, and are not included. FSD London Ltd, registered at Chase Side but trading as My Place Chiswick in west London, is seeking a liquidator; its members meet on 20 October. (Gazette notice 5224930)
