Remembrance Sunday falls on 8 November 2026. Enfield holds three services: Edmonton Green at 10.35am, Southgate at 10am, Enfield Town in the afternoon.

Remembrance Sunday 2026 falls on Sunday 8 November. Armistice Day, the eleventh of the eleventh, is the Wednesday after, 11 November.

Enfield Council has not yet published its 2026 programme. Its news feed ran to 4 September when this page was written and carries nothing about Remembrance. That is normal. The council has announced the arrangements in the last week of October in each of the last four years: 27 October 2025, 28 October 2024, 26 October 2023 and 20 October 2022.

So this page gives you the thing you actually need in September, which is where to be and when. The Enfield programme has been the same three services in the same three places, at the same times, for at least the last two years.

The three services

The borough holds parades and wreath-laying at Edmonton Green, Enfield Town and Southgate. Edmonton and Southgate run in the morning around the eleven o’clock silence. Enfield Town is the afternoon event, and it is the one led by the borough’s dignitaries.

Edmonton Green, The Green, N9 0TZ

  • 10.35am the parade leaves the car park in St Martin’s Road, marches along Monmouth Road, then Hertford Road, then along the front of the bus terminal to the war memorial.
  • 10.45am the parade assembles at Edmonton Green War Memorial.
  • 10.45am to 11.20am the Service of Remembrance, with the two-minute silence at 11am and wreaths laid by dignitaries.
  • 11.20am the parade leaves the memorial and musters at Balham Road.
  • 11.30am it ends.

Southgate, St Andrew’s Church, 184 Chase Side, N14 5HN

  • 10am the service begins in the church.
  • 10.45am the Act of Remembrance, including wreath laying.
  • 11.15am the service ends, and the congregation moves on to Southgate Royal British Legion in Nursery Road, N14 5QD, for further prayers and wreath laying.

Enfield Town, Chase Side and Windmill Hill, EN2 6SG

  • 2.35pm the march to the Enfield War Memorial sets off, led by the Stow Pipers Band.
  • 2.45pm it arrives and the contingents take position.
  • 3pm the Service of Remembrance, led by the Deputy Lieutenant for Enfield, who lays the first wreath, followed by the Leader of the Council and the Mayor.
  • 3.30pm participants disperse from the memorial into Windmill Hill and march through the town centre to Enfield Civic Centre, again behind the Stow Pipers.
  • 4pm the parade is dismissed at the Civic Centre.

Times above are the ones the council published for Sunday 9 November 2025. The 2024 programme was the same running order to the minute, which is why it is worth planning around.

What is likely to change in 2026

Two things, and neither of them is the timing.

The names. In 2025 the Enfield Town service was led by Ann Cable, Deputy Lieutenant for Enfield, followed by Cllr Ergin Erbil as Leader and Cllr Margaret Greer as Mayor. Enfield elects a new Mayor each municipal year, so expect a different name at the memorial this November.

The Edmonton wording. The 2024 notice set out the silence as a separate 11am to 11.02am item. The 2025 notice folded it into a single 10.45am to 11.20am service block. The silence itself is at 11am either way.

Road closures

None has been published for the parades yet. The most recent batch of Enfield temporary traffic orders on the Public Notice Portal was advertised in the Enfield Independent on 26 August 2026, and it covers utility and highway works plus Tottenham Hotspur match nights on Fore Street. There is no Remembrance Sunday order in it.

That is expected this far out. Enfield’s orders are made under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and are usually advertised days rather than months ahead. The council’s highways team takes queries on 0208 379 2039 or at NRSWA@enfield.gov.uk.

Practically, the Enfield Town parade uses Windmill Hill, Chase Side and the town centre streets between the memorial and the Civic Centre in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. The Edmonton parade uses Monmouth Road and a stretch of Hertford Road in front of the bus terminal for about ten minutes from 10.35am. Assume short rolling holds rather than all-day closures, and check our roadworks page for anything else running that weekend.

Parking

The Enfield Town service is the one with a parking problem, because it lands mid-afternoon on a Sunday in the town centre. The council’s car parks and their Sunday rules are on our parking page. Chase Green itself has no visitor car park.

Edmonton Green and Southgate are both easier: each sits on top of a station and a bus interchange, and both services are over well before lunchtime.

What we will add, and when

Once the council publishes the 2026 notice, expected in the last week of October, this page will carry the confirmed times, the names of who is leading each service, and any traffic order that appears on the Public Notice Portal in the days before 8 November.
